Systems Enabling Case Studies

Here are just a few examples of the work our team has provided:

Web and Multi-Media:

Medical Doctors requiring e-learning capabilities via the Web. We designed and created sophisticated, engaging e-learning sites for Medical doctors in the United States. Completely password protected this on-line tool reduced costs and increased reach for physicians who could access the site from anywhere using the Web.

Community College requiring a portable e-learning tool. With Java in its infancy at the time, this project pre-dated the Web as a viable e-learning medium so we created a CD-based solution complete with instructor/student login’s, curriculum, and testing where encrypted files could be emailed to the instructor as courses were completed. This was a truly pioneering project fully enabled for later porting to the Web.

Bar-code, PDA and Imaging:

Financial Services Organization needing to “audit” capital assets and audio-visual equipment by cost centre. PCI integrated Bar-code PDA’s with tracking software and designed an “audit” process for thousands of pieces of equipment in only the time it took to scan a bar-code. Formerly done with a pencil, paper and “elbow grease” it was an impossible mission to achieve monthly and was done annually at best.

Federal Government (Defense) Ministry needing to collate pay chits and hour sheets in a central repository for vacation calculations and other requirements. We provided consultation starting with client supplied core technologies to provide an imaging system with Juke-boxed WORM Optical drives to collate the data from varied sources around the world to a central repository in Ottawa.

Health Care providers needing mobility of patient data and portability of data entry tools for use in Operating Room environments etc.. We have created PDA interfaces to their existing applications providing them with the portability and mobility they needed.
